Interventional Spine & Pain Management

Dr. Benjamin Westerhaus is an Interventional Spine & Pain Management physician at the Cantor Spine Center at Paley Orthopedic & Spine Institute . He brings an engineering background and an eye for innovation to every patient he serves. He seeks to provide compassionate care and superior outcomes by working closely with an interdisciplinary team of physical therapists and renowned spine surgeons.
Originally born and raised in Minnesota, Dr. Westerhaus has been slowly running away from cold winters until finally settling in South Florida. He completed his undergraduate education at Saint Louis University with a degree in Biomedical Engineering, where he met his bride studying in the same program. They moved to Kansas City, where he worked as an engineer for three years before going to medical school at the University of Kansas. He completed his internship in General Surgery in Birmingham, Alabama, and returned to Kansas City to complete his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He then completed his fellowship in Interventional Spine and Sports with Dr. Giuffrida. Whether you have neck pain, sciatica, a vertebral compression fracture, or need help with pain management, Dr. Westerhaus’s treatment philosophy aims to make your functional goals the primary driver of your treatment plan, exhausting the most conservative options first before moving to the more invasive ones.
